Distances shown on a map can be misleading!
Oaxaca is a mountainous state and many of the villages are only accessible by rocky, unpaved roads. Two locations that appear to be right next to each other may be separated by a mountain range and only then accessible to each other by foot. Going from one to another in a vehicle can take many hours.
Making calls on the Libros Para Pueblos libraries can be long and grueling but it is always worth it when we arrive to the generous welcome of children who seldom see outsiders.
